Alexandria Mentoring Partnership

The student volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting mentor recruitment efforts for AMP's various programs, including but not limited to our Engaged Summer Program and Civic Fellows Program. The primary focus will be on attracting mentors who are committed to positively impacting the lives of youth in Alexandria through mentorship.

This includes leveraging social media platforms, creating engaging content, and exploring innovative ways to reach potential mentors.
  • Community Outreach and Partnerships: Engaging with local communities, schools, and organizations to raise awareness about the importance of mentoring. Building partnerships with educational institutions and community centers to expand our reach and attract diverse mentors.
  • Event Coordination: Assisting in the planning and execution of mentor recruitment events. This could involve organizing information sessions, webinars, or community outreach events to share the impact of mentoring and encourage individuals to become mentors.
  • Content Creation: Developing compelling and informative content for promotional materials, social media posts, and recruitment campaigns. This includes showcasing success stories, testimonials, and the positive outcomes of mentorship.

Catholic Charities Migration Services

Project Description:

Client Management

We have several opportunities but all center around case management for newly arrived families. The students would be able to see first hand some of the challenges to relocating to the United States and be a part of helping those to become successful in the US.

We have many programs to offer. We are always in need of people to help newly arrived families transition from Medicaid to another healthcare system. We also offer the opportunity to help people become health literate so that they can become self-sufficient.

We have a youth services program where we help families with children get into schools and become successful. This program works with the families to get their immunizations, and testing done and enroll in schools. There are also tutoring and educational options in this program. We can provide services for up to 5 years after arrival.
