2025 Public Interest Communications Summer Institute
This year, the 2025 Public Interest Communications Summer Institute will be held June 3-5 at Georgia State University in Atlanta. It’s a gathering of academics who want to learn about and grow the academic discipline of public interest communications. It’s organized by the Public Interest Communications Educators Network.
This year’s theme is Rekindling Progress in a Polarized World. There will be sessions focused on communicating around aging, changing the narrative around poverty, documentary film for social change (with a film screening), culturally centered pedagogy and what public interest communications professionals look for when hiring students. And a lot more!
The program consists of a day and a half of small-group sessions, followed by an optional syllabus workshop for those who want help weaving public interest communications into their courses.
They have a special session for grad students to share and brainstorm research, and they'll offer a career networking opportunity for students.
Registration is $100 until April 1, when it goes to $120. Grad student registration is $50 suggested. Learn more and register today!
